Still not enough money…??Okay, now lets check your closet.. Take out all the clothes that u are not wearing anymore. Look ate them...And thinks. Are they still in good condition..??Do you still want to wear them..??Do you have facebook or blog or twitter, etc..?? Here what you can do...

1. Take a picture of your cloth

2. Upload in your facebook, blog, twitter ,etc

3. Put a reasonable price and send the item to the respective buyer once the had successfully bank in the money to your account.

4. Be sincere and responsible, make sure you send the right item to the right buyer, integrity is very important in business.

Hm..how about your old text book..??are you still using them..??do you have sibling to pass them on..??if the answer is no, here are the ideas that might help you to generate money..

1. Make a list of book that you have (including publisher, price you want to sell, title of the book, etc)

2. Make a lot of copy (depand on the need)

3. Paste it on wall at the hostel, every hostel to be effective

Moving Towards a more Mindful Consumption

FOMCA's National Consumer Campaign 2008-2012 had hit UTP in gosh, I don't know how long has passed, but I just had to post it up. Personally in these times of economical crisis ( I assume there's a problem cause everyone is talking about how there's an economical crisis nowadays or something) the only two things that affect me are the price of gas and a pack of smokes. But things are looking pretty bleak in the future what with all the climate problems, food prices sky-rocketing, water shortage, people being layed-off of work and little new jobs opening up over the years. Things are looking pretty bad for us, especially those of us who're still studying.

So, worried as the government is, they decided to send here a few important messages to all you out there.

Mindful consumptions include:

-Planning one's purchases
-Budgeting and sticking to one's budget
-Using public transport
-Eating more fruits and vegetables instead of processed foods
-Switching to generic brands
-Reducing luxuries and impulse buying
-Optimize water and energy use
-Growing one's own vegetables

Well, there you go. Pretty boring stuff that you'll go on and say "Dude, I already know that, you've wasted ten minutes of your life writing this piece of crap,". Yeah, well we wouldn't be having a financial problem today if we did follow these simple rules(that, and I was pretty much forced to do this thread). I mean think about it, as citizens, pretty much everybody blames the government once gas rises up by a few cents, when in actuality, we created this predicament ourselves through the science of demand and supply. So if you're like me and you want those smokes cheap, you best start changing your spending lifestyle.

For Income-ing section this time, we would like to highlight a business that we can say is just started. This business name given is "CAMPUS LIFE 187". So what is so cool about this business? Let's ask one of the founders; Ahmad Farid bin Sainuri.

How did you find this very business idea of yours?
"It was first proposed by a close friend of mine from Institut Perguruan Gaya Kota Kinabalu; Mr Hafifi who is selling tees for the future teacher in his institute.Somehow I found that the idea can be expanded into a larger scale business. I mean, selling tees to any high education institution in all over Malaysia and the tees design will be related to the institution itself provided under the brand CAMPUS LIFE."

How your business was started?
"The brand exist since 2007, called "187Clothing". This is a sub project to the current clothing line. How? You'll know if you are in the "indie" scene 05-07. Haha. It's pretty much like CAMPUS LIFE is a continuity of 187Clothing."

In running the business, what troubles did you went through?
"Issues with tees printer, distributors, and time management maybe? The business is so addictive and fun. You'll never know you were already in front of your laptop for almost 3-5 hours straight designing. Haha. I would like to share a simple rules in this kind of business from johnnycupcakes (a high quality clothing line):

1. Don't rush -- First impressions are everything. 
2. Don't hire your friends -- It's not as easy as it seems and can lead to losing your friend(s). 
3. It's not about the money, it's about being happy doing what you love -- Make sure you're doing something you enjoy.

How your business is doing?
"It's getting very very positive responses from the targeted IPTs. It's doing great I could say. In this very short term we have introduced this business, we already got about 40 bulk orders, and currently we are working on that orders."

What is your future plan for the business?
"To sell all over Malaysia, Brunei and Indonesia colleges and universities. Maybe we'll recruit talented designers from all over the world to join CAMPUS LIFE thus creating a community among students not only to wear the same brand tees but to share thoughts and ideas via CAMPUS LIFE."

How are you people doing?  We hope you are in the pink of health to be able to start or keep running your own business. This time, we have another entrepreneur who has taken the chance to upgrade her life, generating her own income. Let's get to know Nadira, how she did that and maybe get inspired to join her in the big fun entrepreneurship world. :D

"I started blogging since 2006, but hadn’t realize that it could be a medium for business since last year. It started during semester break of 2008 when one of my friends was selling shawls online. I wanted to buy from her but the design was so limited. The next day, I went out to look for it myself and accidentally, I found the supplier for the shawls and I was so interested to start a small online shawls business.

Using my savings, I started with about 40 pieces of shawls, variety designs and colours. At first, it was hard to promote my blog since it was new and was not well-known, but day by day, people came and interested to buy. They would take 2 to 3 pieces every purchase. Some even follow my blog and until today, I have about 80 followers (including followers without blog account).

My first success was that my first batch of shawls was sold out and people were asking for more.stylostall). So, every week, I would go get new stocks of shawls and update them online. Some of my customers also return for more shawls and I’m really glad they all like my shawls. Then, I expanded my business with ladies clothes (

As I love shopping clothes and fashion so much, I really like going out to look for new clothes and would do some research about the latest trend before buying them. Stylostall started a bit slow but now it always got reviewed by fashion reviewer blogs every time new stuff updated. I had also opened my own booth for the first time at UTP Convofair 2009. I got a very small space since I shared the spot with my friends to cut the rent cost.

Today, I owned 3 blogshops; sigadisbertudung (shawls), stylostall (ladies clothes) and bagaholics (bags). Next, my aim for my blogshops right now is to get hundreds of followers and become famous fashion lovers. In the future, I wish I could open my own boutique store for real."

Interested in making money but still having headache thinking of the best way? Don't burden yourself too much. We believe that business should be something you yourself have interest in running it so that it would be less stressful and sustainable. A group of UTP students who call themselves Antique Bakery Boyz has found their suitable business and they are happily doing it until now. Follow their story and we hope they would inspire you.

"People love business, so we are too. The story of our business started when we were really desperate in looking a new thing that has potential to commercialize among UTP students. The idea came out when we did some surveys in the Internet and we found a blog about cupcake. Yes! Cupcake is still new and it seems to have a bright future. Three of us took the challenge to try this new thing and our first work started by looking for a cupcake maker in Ipoh. After some surveys, we found a lady who is really serious in doing cupcakes and she had done many beautiful designs of cupcake that make us fall in love with her artwork. Without any doubt, we made a conjunction with her and our business is begun.

The first order was made by one of our friends who is a committee of Martial Art Festival. We do really appreciate that very first order because she actually boosted our spirit and gave us confidence that cupcake could be famous in UTP. And alhamdulillah, after the first order, we got many orders from other friends who are really interested with our cupcakes - the thing that we never expected! This could be because of our low price for one cupcake, creative designs and beautiful packaging. Besides, we also have 2 flavors for our cupcakes; vanilla and chocolate. How about the taste? This should not be questioned because they are really delicious. It is a fact that shouldn’t be doubted!

Perhaps, there would be more orders in the future. In making our work easier, we build our own blog; http://antiquebakeryboyz.blogspot.com. For us, blog is the best medium for us to communicate with our customers and it may give our customers much information about our products - our new designs, and weekly updates. Our blog really helps us as the orders are increasing every day. Starting next year and new semester, we are planning to make more advertisements and introduce new packaging style. Perhaps, this could make the demands for our cupcakes among UTP students itself become higher in the future. For us, nothing is impossible because all of these are depend on our effort and spirit to improve our business."
