Eco Drum Circle

Salam/hi,

In this Soundcheck post, we will make a review on a very unique group of performers. The ECO DRUM CIRCLE (EDC)! What is so unique about EDC? Well guess what? They play musics with 'special instruments' which consist of recycled items bottles, pails, tin cans and many more!

The Eco Drum Circle team

Under the famous non-profit organization Yayasan Anak Warisan Alam (YAWA), EDC was pioneered by Afiq Safwan Adly in 2007. The idea came when he saw that a lot of youth nowadays are wasting their time without benefit. So by creating activity like EDC, teenagers can have fun while contributing to the environment.

With the motto 'Recycling is not only important,it can be fun!', The EDC team perform unexpected great music even by only using recycled items, while spreading the message of environmental awareness to our community.

The goodness of recycled rythms

EDC had gained a lot of reputation not only in local but also in international level. They had once represented Malaysia in an event called World Drum Festival in 2007. They also had performed in Indonesia's event under Tunas Hijau and in Perth, Australia under Millennium Kids event, The Millennium Kids Footprints Conference.

Anyway, for EDC it is not about fame or popularity. But it is all about the message that they convey, and also team building and social skills among their members and also the community.
