The Lipstik

As we all know, independent music is a new phenomena in our country. Easy to be called as indie music, it has attracted our teenagers to listen to local music than foreign countries' music. It is better right to support our local product - parallel to our government's campaign? There are many indie bands right now, but for this time, we choose a band named The Lipstik. Have you all heard about this band? Let's check it out.


AGEZINE: How was The Lipstik formed?
THE LIPSTIK: The story is like this; The Lipstik was formed on early 2008 in Johor Bahru, exactly on 26th January 2008. At that time, Ali liked to make his own band that brings on 60's music. Then, Ali told his friend; Jack, about his dream. So, they two found another two members to fill lineup of the band. After the band lineup completed, we compose our own songs. And alhamdulillah, after we played our demo to public, we got a positive responses and we all didn't expect that much. Then we started to get offers to perform from many organizers. Actually, before The Lipstik is formed, we had played for other band in the same genre but that band didn't last long.

AGEZINE: How about lineup of the band?
THE LIPSTIK: We have 4 members who are;

1. Ali  (Rhythm guitarist/vocalist)
2. Jimy (Bass guitarist/backup vocalist)
3. Jack (Drummer)
4. Daus (Sessionist guitarist)
   

AGEZINE: You have a new album called Epik, right? Can you tell us about that?
THE LIPSTIK: Oh sure! This Epik is not released yet. Everything will be informed at our official Myspace website. To all our fans, do not forget to get this album ya? There would be 6 songs in it, which are;

1. Berchanda di Malam Indah (new record)
2. Cemburu (new record)
3. Retro Mimpiku (new record)
4. Teruna & Dara (new record)
5. Malam Pesta Rock 'n' Roll (new record)
6. Miss Flower Learn Twist (new song)
