Salam/Hi
Last night has been a wonderful night for all UTP students who had been waiting for Euphonious '10. This year, Euphonious is celebrating its 5th anniversary. Thus, last night the event was held super successfully.
Now, for those of you who aren't familiar with Euphonius, it's basically sorta like Battle of the Bands, held by the ICC of UTP annually. This battle of the band competition started with 25 bands signing up for the prelims, on the 3rd and 4th of April 2010. They were divided by 3 sessions and whaddaya know, Miss Juwita Suwito and one of the members from Altered Frequency came in as guest judges.
At the end of the day, 8 bands were announced to be at the finals last night. They were;
The 23rd of April 2010 saw them again battling it out to be crowned as the Champion of Euphonious '10. Of course these kinds of events would've blatantly suck without special guest performances. Last year, we had Bunkface rock the place, and this year students voted for Sixth Sense and they too rocked the stage last night.
This year, Euphonious has invited a few band from outside to compete with UTP bands. During prelims, there was a band from UNISEL and 2 bands from PUO (Politeknik Ungku Omar). Finally, one of the band from PUO, Project END made it to the finals.
The Euphonious Finale Night was attended by UTP's rector himself, the lecturers and students. They were supporting euphonious every year as this event is very good as student can show off their talents and being a part of healthy competition. Most of the students and lecturers being interviewed said that this event should not be seen as negative just because it includes singing all night long. For the consideration of all sides, the organizer worked very hard to make it a good event to please everyone. They tried hard to start the event very early so that it would end early too. They also did a lot of rehearsals so that it would flow smoothly because any incidents or problems would take a lot of energy for the committees to fix it up and take up a longer time from the event itself. For those who supported and worked very hard for this event, the organizers gives you all a very special thanks and hopefully this event can be held every year in UTP. ROCK ON!!
